2024-09-21 Update: I broke the laptop I was going to take with me to do some travel blogging. To keep it simple, I'll only be posting updates on Pixelfed. Womp womp. I'll post all about it, here, when I get back.

Yesterday morning, my wife woke me up, exited to tell me there was a seat sale including flights to Japan. I took a quick look and booked a flight for late September into early October. This is a big deal, not just because any trip is exciting, but because I've been dreaming of going to Japan for a very long time and haven't actually gone. As I've come to say, 'You can buy a whole lot of not Japan for the price of going to Japan.'

The time has finally come and I plan to make it count.

Naturally, I'll be doing a lot of journaling during the trip and I plan to turn anything helpful or interesting into a blog post here. Partly, this will help me keep track of what I'm doing and partly it'll hopefully be helpful to anyone else planning to go to Japan.
