Yesterday morning, my wife woke me up, exited to tell me there was a seat sale including flights to Japan. I took a quick look and booked a flight for late September into early October. This is a big deal, not just because any trip is exciting, but because I've been dreaming of going to Japan for a very long time and haven't actually gone. As I've come to say, 'You can buy a whole lot of not Japan for the price of going to Japan.'

The time has finally come and I plan to make it count.

Naturally, I'll be doing a lot of journaling during the trip and I plan to turn anything helpful or interesting into a blog post here. Partly, this will help me keep track of what I'm doing and partly it'll hopefully be helpful to anyone else planning to go to Japan.
