Japan To-Do List

For more than two decades, I have occasionally made Japan Trip lists, as I daydream what it would be like and how many things I can really cram into a single visit. Because I just booked a flight to Japan, I'm trying to build an itinerary. Like all good ideas, this starts with a list.

In no particular order, here are some of the things I want to experience in Japan. Some big, some small. Some general, some weirdly specific. This list is also not complete. It'll keep changing until I get things nailed down. Can't do everything.

• Hot Springs
• Kyoto
• Osaka
• Kyushu Takachiho Gorge
• Wagyu beef

Any ideas what I should add to this list? I need to turn it into a real itinerary in pretty short order, so any suggestions you have a very welcome. TIA.
